As the saying goes, all good things must end. CacheCootie would like to thank everyone who participated in the game and helped our Cooties make their way into caches around the globe. We launched in October 2009 and enjoyed two years of game play. CacheCootie was the concept of geocacher Applewomyn and was created to celebrate the diversity of the geocaching community, including those of us who had cooties growing up! The game was an experiment of sorts to encourage continued release of trackable, coin-like objects in an era of the game when cacher willingness to release prized coins is diminishing.

If you have found a CacheCootie, please keep it moving as you would any other trackable item. We're looking into options for allowing continued logging despite the game shutting down, but as of this time, no viable option has emerged. We will update this page with information on where to go to log Cooties once we have a solution. If you are interested in having a complete set of CacheCooties, I do have a limited number of full sets available for sale. Please contact me via email if you are would like to buy a set.
